Often, when making a pact with a demon, the currency used in exchange for wealth, long life, extraordinary powers, or fame was the first born child... or any baby for that matter.

This was an extremely fun painting to do.

What I want to know is, what do they do with the babies once they get them? Do they eat them? Raise them for whatever reason?

whoa... kinda lost for words here, but wow, acrylic painting, and this effin' detailed? not to mention realistic and just downright awesome..! O___O <3
That demon is adorable.. and that's a compliment btw ;D sorry, I just find monsters and demons and other "scary" creatures to be utterly adorable :3 The creepier to others, the cuter to me.. xD
But back to serious; this is really, REALLY well made. It's simply impressive! Love the design, and I love the textures. I love everything about it. So, yeah, definitely faving this

Six years later and I'm still digging on this picture. It's just so emotionally gripping, it gives me chills and makes my stomach knot with concern for that baby. I love the balance of the demon holding the cord in its mouth as if he's going to eat the child, but on the other hand he's cradling it rather tenderly. So much suspense built into a still image. Just thought I'd express my love once more.
